A more ambitious rally this year for STARC Aquitaine. We have organized
two meetings, a rallye the 1st and 2nd of june, and a meeting at Nogaro
Circuit the 9st.
Th weather was pretty good for this first meeting. We wanted, with this
rally, to discover the splendid and unknown area of Entre-Deux-Mers (a
wine area limited by the Gironde river on the west, and by the Dordogne
on the est), between Bordeaux, Bergerac and St. Emilion.
Saturday :
Around 25 crews were grouped at Latresne for the first stage. Alpine
A110, A310, GTA, A610, Renault 5 Alpine Coupe and Renault 5 Turbo. A
first stage of 50 Km with a low speed limitation, in the country, in
vine fields to Château Bonhoste, at St. Jean de Blaignac. Fournier
Family welcomed us for a first tasting in fresh wine-cellar.

The lunch was taken at Auberge St. Jean some kilometers farest, near
the Dordogne. A very appreciated break.

The second stage was the biggest one ! More than 90 Km of rally, small
roads of country, to near Bergaerac, at Château de Sanxet, where
we tested the Monbazillac wine.

Only 6 Km to reach the hotel, where we grouped all crews. Dinner and
break for the crews, break for the cars too.

Sunday :
After a big breakfast, just one stage ! A very simple one too, when
we saw the roadbook. We had to follow a unique country road during 30
Km between the North of St. Foy la Grande and Montagne St. Emilion.
At the end, Surprise ! Many crews were lost ! Many others reach the
end in the wrong way ! This stage was the solution to establish a clear
classifaction of all crews. 8 crews were with the same time saturday
evening.
A new tasting at Montagne St. Emilion, at Château St. Jacques
Calon, welcomed by Molle family.
The superbe casttle and the Alpine cars were great for photos. 4 Alpine
A610, several Alpine A110 of CAGPC, Alpine A310, Alpine GTA et Renault
5 Turbo et Renault 5 Alpine Coupe.

Just before the lunch, the crews were invited to discover St. Emilion,
one of the most know of Wine cities of the World.

The lunch was at Auberge du Château Cros Figeac, in a very good
atmosphere. As the other years, all crews received some bottles of good
wine.
Great thanks to Philippe Badard, vice-president and Jean-Claude Schock
of STARC Aquitaine, The success of this meeting is the result of their
important work. With many active people, sure we could organize next year
a new very ineresting meeting.
I have to thank Vincent ! He lends me his Renault 5 Alpine Coupe to participate
to this superb rally. Remember, my
car has burnt !
