Since 1998, many rumors grow up concerning the come-back of a car to replace Spider and Alpine A110. More or less serious, these rumors grow up because Renault don't send us any official information about this next model.

So now, we consider that the projet of a new Alpine A110 and the project of a new Spider are similars.

Several times, projects are stopped. The most advanced project is is W71, like you can see with these pics.

The last rumors we heard are :

Renault could study the possibility to create a new Spider. This new version who could be commercialiazed in 2 years, would be powered with the 230bhp 2.0 turbo engine of the next Mégane SR. This seconde generation would be equiped with a mobile strong roof as the Peugeot 206 cc model ! Good news !

A french magazine announces que the french manufacturer (Renault) thinks to produce a new sport car. To replace the Spider, this new model would be produced in a small serie and equiped by a 2.0 l engine. This car would get the aluminium chassus developped by Moc Composites (known to have build the Espace F1 with a V10 engine) which is used to develop the Venturi Fétish.
