Tour de Corse Historique - All CHR Team arrived safety!
All
CHR team members arrived safely in Ajaccio after the 4th day of an incredibly
beautiful race in Corsica, taking the boat to Marseille on Friday evening.
We were all disappointed that this experience had finished and were thinking
only about 2003's event as we headed home.
The final ranking of the CHR team members is:
No.17 LANDON Xavier/ RAOUL Jean-Eric - placing 17th overall
No.16 KATO Hitoshi/ TAKAHIRA Koki - placing 30th overall
No.18 CHAUSSIN Hugues/ GALLET Yves - placing 36th overall
No.15 COMAS Erik/ GAGNAIRE Francois - placing 37th overall
Each
CHR team member had a different perspective of the final ranking for this
rally. Some wanted to do the regularity challenge for the pleasure of
competing with specialists, others simply focused on getting the most
pleasure out of competing on the event, as you can see with Erik's ranking.
It's important to note that LANDON/RAOUL in Alpine No.17 twice topped
the times in the regularity challenge, on stages No.5 and No.10. For non-professional
drivers, this is a very nice surprise!
Participating in this historic event was a great experience for all of
us; a good finishing position was not the goal of the CHR members on this
occasion. But for sure, we are aiming for the overall win in the regularity
challenge next year!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a result of this event, CRM will appear in TV documentaries to be
shown on French TV in programmes such as AB Moteurs and Motors TV. There
will also be a broadcast feature on J-Sky Sport Japan.
Among
the CHR team members in Corsica, a number of journalists - from a variety
of motoring magazines - drove or co-piloted CHR Alpines:
- Mr RAOUL for SPORT AUTO
- Mr CHAUSSIN for La Vie de l'Auto and Auto-Retro
- Mr GALLET for Retro Course and Comptes-Tours
- Mr TAKAHIRA for Car Graphic
Here in Switzerland, we are now working on preparation for the next CHR
rally, the MONTE CARLO HISTORIQUE. This event takes place from the 31st
of January to the 5th of February.
In 2001, Erik's team started the race from TORINO; the following year
we started from REIMS and this year we have chosen to start from MONACO.
Following the spirit of the Monte Carlo of old, the program will be:
1st day: Monaco-Vals les Bains: Concentration leg
2nd day: Vals les Bains-Valence : Concentration leg
3rd day: Valence-Gap: Common leg part.1
4th day: Valence-Monaco: Common leg part. 2
5th day: Monaco-Monaco: Final leg
We will be pleased to see you on those roads in February.
Let's thank very much Erik Comas team to authorize us to publish these
pages.
Rendez-vous is planed for Monte Carlo Historique now!
