A new serie of pages... Eric Gengembre starts it with the
restoration of an Alpine A108. With many pics, he presents us the long
work. Let's listen him :
"I bought this Alpine a day of june. Whitout a long investigation,
we can see that this Alpine has got a hard life with many amateur rally
drivers.

The worst problem is the rear body part, an Alpine A110
one ! The first work was to re-open the cool water wisp, a typical characteristic
of Alpine A108.

An important work has to be done..

An other surprise, the original engine was replaced by a Renault 12
one, all windows , the electric system are dismounted.

The car has crashed too. A complete refection of the chassis is needed.
All chassis parts were prepared and cleaned with sand. Only the central
part of the body was saved. All the parts were painted with epoxy paint.

In the same time, I had to look for many specific parts, an engine founded
in Auvergne area, new seats in the North, and many others parts in Netherland
and Germany..
The body restoration was started too. The A110 rear part was cut.

After these unpleased stages, the better one started ! I began to rebuild
the chassis... and the engine.

For the body, after many reflexions, he diceided to rebuild a new
one.
Mr Paquot had created a matrix from an other Alpine A108, a very long
work, with many preparations. But the result was splendid.

After the ounce of the body, it has been paste to the chassis.

Today, the body is ready for a new paint."
